The Energy Centre Budweis (ECCB / Energy Centre Ceské Budejovice) was established 1998 through the cross-border cooperation between South Bohemia and Upper Austria (OÖ Energiesparverband). The ECCB promotes energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy sources. Projects are implemented at regional (South Bohemia), national (Czech Republic), cross-border (mainly Upper Austria – South Bohemia; cooperation with the OÖ Energiesparverband) and EU level.

The Energy Centre Budweis cooperates closely with the Upper Austrian network of green energy businesses, the Okoenergie-Cluster. 40 companies from South Bohemia have already established a partnership with the cluster.
